Configure Custom Pricing for Components

NEW Catalog Terminology

We’re transitioning the terminology used in the Maxio Product Catalog. If you’re using the new experience, you’ll see updated naming in the application—Products are now Plans, and Components are now Products.
Our documentation is still being updated, so you may see previous terminology (especially in screenshots); refer to these definitions for the most accurate interpretation.

You can set Custom Pricing for Components directly on a Subscription using the following Component allocation flows:

  • Update Quantity
  • Toggle On/Off
  • Purchase Prepaid Units

Custom Pricing applies only to the selected Subscription. It does not update pricing in the Product Catalog.

Update Quantity

Follow these steps to set Custom Pricing for quantity-based Components on a Subscription.

  1. Go to Billing > Subscriptions, then select the appropriate Subscription.
  2. From the View Subscription page, select Components in the left navigation panel.
  3. In the Component Types drop-down next to Search, select Quantity Based (Recurring).
  4. Locate the Component, click the More icon (...), then select Update Quantity.

  5. Under Pricing, click Change pricing.

  6. Select Custom Pricing.
  7. Configure the Pricing Scheme, then click Save.
  8. Under Proration Options, choose how to handle:
    • Component price increases
    • New charges
    • Failed Component payments
    • Component price decreases
  9. Enter a Memo describing the allocation.
  10. Click Update.

Toggle On or Off

Follow these steps to set Custom Pricing for On/Off Components.

  1. In the Component Types drop-down next to Search, select On/Off.

  2. Locate the Component, click the More icon (...), then select Toggle On/Off.
  3. Click Toggle On.
  4. Under Pricing, click Change pricing.
  5. In the Pricing dialog, select Custom Pricing.
  6. Configure the Pricing Scheme, then click Save.
  7. Under Proration Options, choose how to handle:
    • Component price increases
    • New charges
    • Failed Component payments
    • Component price decreases
  8. Enter a Memo describing the allocation.
  9. Click Update.

Purchase Prepaid Units

Follow these steps to set Custom Pricing for Prepaid Usage Components.

  1. In the Component Types drop-down next to Search, select Prepaid Usage.

  2. Locate the Component, click the More icon (...), then select Purchase Prepaid Units.
  3. Under Pricing, click Change pricing.
  4. In the Pricing dialog, select Custom Pricing.
  5. Configure Custom Pricing for the Allocated/Overage Schemes.

  6. Click Save.
  7. Under Proration Options, select how to handle an immediate Component payment failure.
  8. Enter a Memo describing the allocation.
  9. Click Update.
