This article explains how to permanently delete a subscription in Maxio Advanced Billing. Deleting a subscription removes the subscription and associated transaction data from your site. Due to its permanence, deleting a subscription should typically be reserved for reversing data entry mistakes.
Important considerations before deleting a subscription:
- Deleting a subscription is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Only Seller Administrators can perform deletions.
- Proceed only if you're sure this is the desired action. It may be more appropriate to cancel the subscription instead. This option retains the revenue and history but prevents future invoices.
- Deleting a subscription removes its transaction history from your site.
- The deletion is blocked if the subscription has pending payments.
How to Delete a Subscription
- From the Subscription Actions menu, select Delete.

Select the attribute(s) you want to delete.
Option Description Also delete the customer (name, email, reference value, etc.)
If you plan to use this customer to create new subscriptions, leave this option unchecked. A single customer can have multiple subscriptions, so the customer will only be deleted if this option is selected and they have no other active subscriptions. Also delete the credit card
If you plan to reuse this credit card for another subscription, leave this option unchecked. Credit cards can be linked to multiple subscriptions and will only be deleted if they are not associated with any other subscriptions. -
Click Delete.
Deleting the subscription
Eligibility for Deletion
For Maxio Platform users, Maxio Core records are unaffected unless they are separately deleted and eligibility rules apply.
A subscription is eligible for deletion if all of the following conditions are met:
- All associated Maxio Core Transactions have a start date that is on or after the configured Transaction Lock date.
- All associated invoices and credit memos have an issue date that is on or after the configured Close Lock date.
- None of the associated invoices or credit memos have been synced to a General Ledger.
