Scheduled Renewals only apply to Term Subscriptions. This feature is only available for Early Access. Contact support@maxio.com for assistance.
From the Subscription page, the Term section gives you a quick overview of the Subscription term and renewal status.
Click Change to edit the Subscription and add a Renewal.
From the following page, you can view your Subscription plan's configuration (which Products, Components, and Coupons it currently includes) in one central place, making it easier to manage and update your Subscription without having to navigate through multiple screens.

Adding and Configuring a Renewal
When working with Term Subscriptions, you will likely want to make use of the Renewal functionality. Renewals keep the subscription in an Active state beyond the current term. Without a Renewal configured, Term Subscriptions expire at the end of the current term.
Click the Add Renewal tab to configure a Renewal. This immediately creates a draft Renewal.
Every draft Renewal is pre-populated to reflect the Subscription's current configuration: same Product, Components, price points, and quantities. Maxio pre-populates the draft Renewal to minimize the amount of clicks required for most renewal configurations. However, from this point, you may configure the Renewal in way you would like. For example, you can:
- Select a different Product from the Catalog
- Add or remove a Component
- Change a quantity
- Change a price point
For Multi-currency users: If the Subscription is of a secondary currency, you can only select the price points that have Definitive Pricing set. If Definitive Pricing is not set, pick the Product or Component and then set up Custom Pricing.
Setting the Renewal Term
By default, the Renewal Term Date is based on the current term length, which in this case is one year.
You can, however, set the term to a period that’s customized to your needs. Advanced Billing will automatically handle the proration if the renewal term length is not evenly divisible by the billing period length.
Click inside the Renewal End Date box and, from the date picker, select a new Renewal Term date.
By default, when you page-through the months in the date picker, the day of the month that you’re currently billing on is selected.
A Renewal term may also be set to Evergreen. This means when the Subscription's current term ends, the Subscription term will change to Evergreen. Evergreen Subscriptions are Active until Cancelled.
Saving a Renewal
Once you’ve set up the draft Renewal, there are two options when saving: "Save and Lock In" and "Save and Schedule Lock In".
You may leave the renewal in Draft status but it will not affect the Subscription until it is actually saved.
-
Save and Lock In
Save the renewal and lock it in. Once locked in, the Renewal is in Pending status. The Renewal term has not yet started; however, Transactions for the new period are created in Maxio Platform. -
Save and Schedule Lock In
Save the Renewal and schedule it to be locked in at a future date. This gives you the ability to remove the Renewal before the scheduled lock-in date. The Renewal will be in Scheduled status, and will change to Pending status at this future lock-in date.
About the Renewal Status
The Renewal status appears next to the “Renewal Setup”.
-
Draft
The Renewal is currently being editing and has not yet been saved. Even if you navigate away from this page, your draft Renewal changes will remain intact. -
Scheduled
The Renewal is saved but not yet locked in. In this case, the lock-in has been scheduled for a future date. -
Pending
The Renewal has been saved and locked in, but not started. Transactions for the new period are created in Maxio Platform.
When the current term ends and the renewal becomes the new current term, only then will changes be reflected in Subscription details. For example, if the Renewal includes a Component price increase, the Subscription Components table will not reflect the new price until the current term ends.
