Use this article to answer common questions about how Advanced Contract Changes behaves.
Maxio prorates the amount based on the number of days in the month up to your revised end date, so you don't need to wait until the end of the month to early terminate a Transaction.
Changes originate in Maxio, but if you are processing new opportunities from Salesforce for mid-term changes, you do not need to also perform an Advanced Contract Change. If you do not need a corresponding new opportunity to represent the change, you will perform an Advanced Contract Change in Maxio and any new transactions, invoices, and/or credit memos created will be sent to Salesforce as part of the Send Financial Records sync.
Any Credit Memo or Invoice created through Advanced Contract Change will follow the standard process for committing tax from AvaTax. If you are set up to commit automatically, the tax will be committed when you sync, send, or manually commit the Credit Memo or Invoices created through the Advanced Contract Change.
You can perform the same type of contract change for multiple Transactions within a Contract at one time. You will need to perform separate contract changes if the Transactions require different types of changes (for example, one is change amount and the other is change item).
This is a perfect use case for the Mid-Term Contract Change, where you select to manually enter the adjustment dates and amounts. This gives you the ability to put in the Revised End Date as the day before the freeze period. Once you proceed from the manual adjustment selections, you enter the new start date as the first day the freeze has ended through the new end date of the term.
Yes, absolutely. You're not limited in the ability to use Advanced Contract Changes even if an invoice is synced. Maxio never modifies the original Transaction or Invoices, it simply creates an adjustment and new Transaction to reflect your changes.
