# Monitor and Run Campfire Syncs

Run a Campfire sync whenever you need records moved now, then use the Campfire home page to confirm each step ran and to find every record that didn't sync. A sync issue names the record and the reason, so you can fix it and let the next sync pick it up.

## Run a sync

Syncs run on the **Sync Schedule** you set in Campfire's integration settings, or only when you start one if the schedule is **Manual Sync Only**. You need the Editor role, and Campfire must be connected.

**To run a sync**

1. Go to **Left Menu** > **Campfire**.
2. Click the sync icon (**Sync Reference Data**).

The sync runs every step that's turned on, in order. While it runs, the sync icon is unavailable and its tooltip reads *Sync in progress...*. To change the schedule, see <a href="https://docs.maxio.com/accounting/general-ledger-integrations/campfire/configuration/configure-the-campfire-integration#configure-sync-settings" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Configure the Campfire Integration</a>.

## Check sync status

The Campfire home page shows the state of the connection and of every sync step:

- **Connection:** shows *Connected to Campfire*, followed by your entity's name, or *Not connected.* with a link to connect.
- **Synchronization** table: lists each step that's available on your account, whether it's turned on, and its **Last Sync Date**. A step that's turned off is shown dimmed. An icon next to each step shows how it went in the last sync:

- *Completed in the last sync*
- *Completed with issues in the last sync*
- *Failed in the last sync*
- *Didn't complete in the last sync*

When background syncs are on, the sync status chip next to the Campfire page title shows how many sync issues the last sync recorded, for example *1 sync issue recorded*. Click the chip, then click **View sync issues** to open the list filtered to the issues from that sync.

To check whether a specific Customer, Item, Invoice, or Account reached Campfire, see <a href="https://docs.maxio.com/accounting/general-ledger-integrations/campfire/using/find-campfire-links-in-maxio" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Find Campfire Links in Maxio</a>.

## Review Campfire sync issues

When a sync step can't sync a record, Maxio logs a sync issue that explains why, for example when an account a Deposit's journal entry needs isn't set. Maxio lists these issues on the **Campfire Sync Issues** list, which you need the Bookkeeping User or Admin User role to open.

Once Campfire is connected, the Campfire home page shows an **Issues** tab below the **Synchronization** table. The tab opens the list showing only recent issues, the ones logged since the most recent Campfire sync. In the list:

- Click **Show Prior Issues** to see the full history of Campfire sync issues, or **Only Show Recent Issues** to return to recent issues.
- Use the filter bar to narrow the list by date, sync step, or message text.
- Use the **Download** menu to export the list as a CSV file or to a Google Sheet. The menu appears only while you are viewing prior issues and the list has issues to export.

For the most common issues and how to fix them, see <a href="https://docs.maxio.com/accounting/general-ledger-integrations/campfire/troubleshooting/troubleshooting-and-faqs" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Campfire Troubleshooting and FAQs</a>.

## Retrieve records again

A Get step retrieves only the records that changed in Campfire since its **Last Sync Date**. After you fix the cause of a sync issue, a record that hasn't changed in Campfire isn't retrieved again on its own. Either edit the record in Campfire, or clear the step's last sync date so the next sync retrieves every record again.

**To clear a step's last sync date**

1. Go to **Left Menu** > **Campfire**, then click the gear icon (**Integration Settings**).
2. In the **Synchronization** table, click **Settings** next to the step.
3. Clear the **Last sync date** field.
4. Click **Save**.
