Use this integration if you want Salesforce to display and manage Subscriptions, Transactions, Invoices, and Events from Advanced Billing.
Looking for the Maxio Platform Salesforce integration? See Sync Sales Orders and Financial Data with Salesforce.
The Salesforce integration for Advanced Billing syncs Subscription and Customer data into Salesforce. This provides visibility into billing-related records without requiring teams to leave Salesforce. While certain fields for transactions, invoices, and events may be exported and displayed, these objects are not managed natively within Salesforce.
The integration provides mapped Salesforce objects for viewing synced data from Advanced Billing. For example, subscription details can be previewed from within Salesforce once data has been exported. Transaction history and invoice status may be visible where configured, but these records are not directly managed through Salesforce. Customer lifecycle management continues to be handled in Advanced Billing, with Salesforce serving as a synced view of selected data.

Example 2: Transaction Tracking in Salesforce
In some configurations, Opportunities can be linked to subscription creation workflows—typically when moved to a Closed/Won state. Depending on setup, a subscription preview may be displayed for reference. These features require additional Salesforce customization and are not automatically included by the integration.
Availability and Requirements
Before enabling the Salesforce integration, review the following requirements to ensure compatibility with your Salesforce environment. Meeting these prerequisites helps prevent common setup issues and ensures the integration works as expected.
- Salesforce editions: Requires Salesforce REST API access (included with Enterprise and higher editions; available as an add-on for Professional).
- Environments: Designed for use in production; sandbox testing is optional.
- User interface: Supports both Salesforce Classic and Lightning, depending on organization setup.
- API keys: A single Advanced Billing integration API key can be generated and linked; multi-site or hierarchical account structures may require custom development.
We strongly recommend testing the integration in a Salesforce sandbox account before enabling it in production. You can sign up for a free Salesforce developer account or create an additional sandbox environment in your existing Salesforce account. Common setup issues typically relate to permissions and API key configuration rather than Salesforce workflow conflicts.
Trial Period
The Salesforce integration includes a 14-day free trial with one user license in Developer and Production Salesforce accounts when downloaded from the Salesforce AppExchange. Sandbox environments provide unlimited licenses and do not expire.
To extend a trial, contact support@maxio.com. If a trial expires, Advanced Billing data will no longer display in Salesforce until a new license is purchased or extended.
Synced Fields
Advanced Billing remains the system of record for customer and subscription data. Salesforce displays the exported fields but does not replace Advanced Billing as the authoritative source. Depending on configuration, some fields may be excluded from syncing.

Enable Support Access
In some cases, Maxio Support may request additional details about your Salesforce account to troubleshoot issues. If direct login access is required, follow Salesforce’s documentation on granting temporary access to support representatives. This is not specific to the Maxio integration and may vary depending on your Salesforce org settings.
You can grant access by following these steps:
- Navigate to My Settings in Salesforce.
- In the left column, select Personal → Grant Account Login Access.
- Enable Maxio Support by selecting a duration in the drop-down. We recommend one week.
- Click Save.
If you cannot perform these steps, one of the following may apply:
- A system administrator disabled the ability for non-admins to grant access.
- Your user account does not have a license for the package.
- The package is licensed to the entire org. Only admins with the Manage Users permission can grant access.
- The org preference Administrators Can Log in as Any User is enabled.
For more information, see the Salesforce documentation on granting login access.
