Target Sets and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) Sets let you attach your own performance goals to a Subscription Momentum report, so the report can show actual results alongside what you were aiming for. Both are created and maintained independently of any single report, so you can reuse the same Target Set or CAC Set across multiple reports.
| Set type | What it tracks | Where it appears on the report |
|---|---|---|
| Target Set (Momentum or Customer Count) | ARR/MRR or Customer Count goals | Momentum Performance and Customer Count Performance sections, as actual values against target and percent of target achieved |
| CAC Set | Monthly customer acquisition cost | Customer Lifetime Value section, as the CLV-to-CAC ratio |
A Subscription Momentum report can include one Momentum Target Set, one Customer Count Target Set, and one CAC Set at the same time.
Any user with reporting permissions can view a Target Set or CAC Set, but creating or editing one requires Admin permissions. Both are managed from their own pages under Admin, separate from any report definition.
For the steps to create and maintain a Target Set, see Create Targets for Subscription Momentum.
For the steps to create and maintain a CAC Set, see Use Customer Acquisition Cost Sets.
For what each Momentum, Customer Count, and CLV metric means, see Understanding the Advanced Subscription Momentum Report.
