Canceling a subscription in Advanced Billing does not leave its Maxio Core transactions behind. The next sync carries the cancellation across, so revenue schedules stop reflecting revenue you are no longer going to earn.
When you cancel a Subscription in Advanced Billing and then sync to Maxio Core, the Transactions related to the canceled Subscription and were in "Recurring, Not Renewed" status are also canceled. The canceled Transaction status then becomes "Recurring, Canceled".
The status change is what drives the downstream effect: a canceled transaction stops generating future revenue, so deferred revenue and unbilled AR calculations pick up the cancellation the same way they would any other transaction change.
The behavior is reversible. Should the Subscription be reactivated, the corresponding Transactions will also be updated and will no longer be marked as canceled.
You do not need to recreate transactions by hand after a reactivation, because sync restores them.
Only transactions in "Recurring, Not Renewed" status at the time of the cancellation are canceled by this process. Transactions in other statuses are left as they are, so historical activity on the subscription is preserved rather than rewritten.
For the boundaries of what does and does not carry across between the two applications, see Known Limitations.
