Troubleshoot MCP Report Retrieval Errors

··

Last updated on Sep 19, 2026

Retrieving a Maxio report through MCP means the AI client downloads the file from cloud storage and processes it locally. A client that is not permitted to do either fails with an Amazon S3 error instead of returning the report.

Check your client's code execution settings

If you receive an error related to Amazon S3 while retrieving or analyzing reports through the Maxio MCP, first verify that your Claude organization allows code execution and network access.

To allow Claude to retrieve report files

  1. Navigate to Organization Settings > Capabilities.
  2. Under Code execution, confirm that the following settings are enabled:
    • Cloud code execution and file creation
    • Allow network egress
  3. Under Domain allowlist, confirm that access is set to All domains.
  4. Retry your request.

These capabilities allow Claude to retrieve report files from cloud storage and process them locally. If code execution, network egress, or domain access is restricted, report retrieval may fail with S3-related errors.

These settings are managed at the Claude organization level. If they are unavailable or disabled, contact your Claude organization administrator.

For the report tools that produce these files, see the Review Maxio MCP Supported Tools help article.

For connecting a client in the first place, see the Configure the Maxio MCP Connector help article.
