We’re transitioning the terminology used in the Maxio Product Catalog. If you’re using the new experience, you’ll see updated naming in the application—Products are now Plans, and Components are now Products.
Our documentation is still being updated, so you may see previous terminology (especially in screenshots); refer to these definitions for the most accurate interpretation.
This article explains how to create, edit, and archive Coupons in Maxio Advanced Billing. Use Coupons to apply discounts and promotions to Subscriptions across your Product Families. Whether you’re offering a percentage discount or a fixed amount, Maxio provides flexible tools to manage your Coupons effectively.
Creating a Coupon
Coupons are created and managed at the Product Family level from the Setup tab.
- To create a new Coupon, click the "Create New Coupon" button.
- Once a Coupon is created, it is available across all Products within that Product Family.

Editing Coupons
Once a Coupon is created, it appears under the Product Family in the Products section. To edit a Coupon, click the "Edit" button next to it.

If you change the amount or percentage of a Coupon, it immediately affects any existing Subscriptions that already have the Coupon applied.
However, if the Coupon is set to "Apply the discount at signup and for a certain number of renewal periods," modifying the number of renewal periods will NOT affect existing Subscriptions.
The edit screen displays all current Coupon settings organized into sections. Click "Edit" within a section to update its details. You can also configure pricing for other currencies under the "Discount Configuration" section.
When editing a Coupon, each section is collapsed by default for easier navigation.
Deleting a Coupon
Advanced Billing does not support deleting Coupons. Instead, you can archive Coupons that are no longer in use.
Archiving a Coupon
Archiving a Coupon retains its record but prevents it from being applied to new Subscriptions.
Archived Coupons remain visible for historical reference. While they can’t be used by new Subscribers, existing Subscriptions will continue to honor them until all allowed uses are consumed.
- Locate the Coupon you wish to archive
- Select Archive
- A confirmation message appears to verify the archival action
