- Why it matters:
This update helps finance teams by reducing manual work and ensuring invoices are always issued promptly, supporting consistent cash flow and reliable billing operations.
- Where to find it:
Pending invoices will now auto-issue in the Invoices section after their grace period ends. No additional configuration is required.
Search for Subscriptions by Subscription ID
In Advanced Billing, you can search for a Subscription using its Subscription ID directly from the global search bar. This enhancement allows you to quickly find Subscription details from any page, without needing to navigate to the Subscriptions tab. (Released: 2 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
This update saves time and reduces friction for users who have a Subscription ID, making it easier to resolve customer inquiries and providing a consistent search experience across Maxio products.
- Where to find it:
Click the global search icon (
) at the top right of any page in Advanced Billing. Enter the Subscription ID to locate the Subscription instantly.
Dunning activity improvements for backdated Subscriptions
Subscription activity involving backdated Subscriptions and dunning is now more precise and transparent. Merchants and finance teams will see clearer activity descriptions which clarify payment and signup states, making it easier to monitor and manage each scenario. (Released: 12 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
This improvement helps merchants and finance teams manage backdated Subscription payments more efficiently, reducing confusion and ensuring customers receive accurate billing communications.
- Where to find it:
Open a Subscription with a backdated start date and review the Activity section for updated dunning status messages.
Manage Invoice Line Item consolidation in the Billing Portal
You can now manage how Invoice Line Items are grouped directly from the Invoice Create or Invoice Edit forms, with your selections clearly displayed on the Invoice Read view. (Released: 17 March 2026)
- Why it matters:

- Where to find it:
Go to Invoices, then from the Billing Portal tab, use the new Combine Line Items dropdown. Your selection will be shown on the Invoice Read view under the Billing Portal section.
reCAPTCHA enabled for AB Test Sites
We have enabled reCAPTCHA across all AB Test Sites to enhance security for Checkout flows. This allows for testing before the requirement is expanded to live sites in the coming month. (Released: 23 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
Enabling reCAPTCHA helps protect your site from fraudulent activities and automated bot attacks. Testing this in your environment now ensures your Checkout flows remain uninterrupted when the security update is applied to live sites.
- Where to find it:
To review these settings, navigate to your AB Test Site and initiate a Checkout to observe the reCAPTCHA prompt.
Manage Subscription auto-renewals in bulk
You can now enable or disable auto-renewal for multiple Subscriptions simultaneously within the Advanced Billing interface. This update streamlines lifecycle management by allowing bulk updates to renewal configurations, significantly reducing manual effort. (Released: 24 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
Managing large sets of Subscriptions during onboarding, migrations, or bulk imports previously required individual updates for each record. This new capability eliminates repetitive manual actions, saves time for operational teams, and reduces the risk of human error when configuring whether a Subscription should automatically renew or expire.
- Where to find it:
Navigate to the Subscription in Advanced Billing, select the desired Subscriptions, and use the Bulk Edit menu to select Set Auto-Renewal Cycle or Disable Auto-Renewal.
Sales Order Line Items now support multi-period SKUs from Maxio CPQ (formerly RevOps) Beta
Maxio now supports processing SKUs from Maxio CPQ (formerly RevOps) that include multiple service periods within a single pricing table line item. When these deals are synced, Maxio will generate corresponding Sales Order Line Items for each defined service period, ensuring accurate downstream billing schedules. (Released: 26 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
This update enables a single SKU with a scheduled set of service periods to be fully represented in Maxio without requiring multiple line items in CPQ. Each service period is translated into its own transaction in Maxio, improving billing accuracy and ensuring alignment between CPQ deal configuration and invoicing.
- Where to find it:
-
This functionality is currently available via Beta for Maxio CPQ integrations. You can request access using the following link:
https://maxio.typeform.com/to/JHltD85a#mxd_jira=MXD-2284Once enabled, this behavior is applied automatically during the deal sync process from Maxio CPQ to Maxio. You can view the resulting transactions on the Sales Order and within associated Subscription or Invoice details.
Subscription prepayment balance updates after refund
When a prepayment is refunded through Maxio Payments, the Subscription’s prepayment balance now updates automatically to reflect the refund. This ensures that the displayed prepayment amount always matches the actual transaction history and payment processor records. Merchants no longer need to manually reconcile prepayment balances after refunds. (Released: 16 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, when a Merchant initiated a prepayment on a Subscription and later refunded it through Maxio Payments, the Subscription’s prepayment balance did not update to reflect the refund. This caused discrepancies between the payment processor and the Subscription’s displayed prepayment amount, leading to inaccurate balances and confusion for Merchants during reconciliation. With this update, the prepayment balance now updates automatically after a refund, ensuring accurate records and a smoother experience for Merchants.
- Where to find it:
Go to Subscriptions, select a Xubscription, and open the Prepayments tab. Refunds processed through Maxio Payments will now update the prepayment balance automatically.

This update adds Level 2 and Level 3 data fields to transactions processed through Stripe’s enhanced data program, ensuring compliance with Visa’s Cardholder Data Environment Protection standards. Merchants using Adyen’s payment gateway will benefit from improved transaction data quality, potentially lower interchange fees, and enhanced reporting. (Released: 9 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
This enhancement helps merchants qualify for better processing rates and provides more detailed transaction insights, making reconciliation and compliance reporting easier and more accurate.

Manage credit card surcharge compliance rules in Maxio Payments
Maxio Payments now includes a rules engine to manage credit card surcharge compliance across different U.S. jurisdictions. Merchants can adopt Maxio’s default compliance settings or apply custom overrides for specific states and card networks to accurately pass on processing costs to buyers. (Released: 30 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
Surcharging regulations vary significantly by state and card network, making manual compliance difficult to maintain. This update provides an automated way to stay within legal limits, such as the 4% cap, while giving you the control to adjust rates and disclosures as regional requirements evolve.
- Where to find it:
-
Log in to the Maxio Payments and navigate to the Surcharging section. From there, you can configure Regional Rules, Card Network Rules, and Checkout Disclosures.

This change provides additional flexibility by aligning transaction dates with item-level logic instead of Advanced Billing period dates when configured accordingly. (Released: 2 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
This update helps ensure that revenue recognition and Transaction dates for quantity-based, one-time charges are consistent with your accounting expectations, reducing discrepancies between billing and financial records for term subscriptions.
- Where to find it:

Intacct integration enhancements: Send and Get Refunds steps Beta
Maxio now supports both sending refunds from Maxio to Intacct and getting refunds from Intacct into Maxio. Refunds created in either system are automatically synced, ensuring both platforms remain financially aligned and all refund activity is accurately reflected. These enhancements eliminate manual reconciliation work and provide a complete, up-to-date view of refund transactions. (Released: 19 March 2026)

Enable continue on error for Rillet syncs
Rillet admins can now enable a setting to allow syncs to continue processing even when recoverable errors occur on specific records. This ensures that a single failing record does not stop the entire synchronization process, with all skipped items logged as sync issues for later review. (Released: 23 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
Previously, a single error would abort the entire Rillet sync, causing delays and requiring manual intervention for unaffected records. This update reduces operational friction by allowing successful data to flow through while isolating failures.
- Where to find it:
Navigate to Admin > Integrations > Rillet and select Settings. Locate the Continue on error toggle within the UI to enable this behavior.
Upgrade Rillet Integration to API V3
Earlier this month, Rillet released their new V3 API, and the Maxio integration has been updated accordingly to align with this latest version. This update maintains backwards compatibility across existing endpoints while introducing enhancements to how invoices and credit memos are transmitted. (Released: 26 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
-
The updated integration leverages Rillet’s more narrowly defined integration invoice type, improving structure and consistency in how financial data is sent from Maxio. It also enables the inclusion of Maxio invoice numbers directly within Rillet, along with hyperlinks back to Maxio for both invoices and credit memos, improving traceability and auditability across systems. Additionally, this update supports more precise data handling, including enhancements to credit memo workflows.

Improved Data Visibility: Stacked Bar Charts Now Display Segment Totals
You can now view numeric values directly on individual segments within stacked bar charts. This update improves data readability by providing immediate access to per-segment totals, reducing the need to rely on tooltips for core information. (Released: 30 March 2026)
- Why it matters:
This update ensures that key data remains visible at a glance, improving the speed of analysis for both horizontal and vertical stacked charts. By displaying values directly on the segments, you can effectively present data in formats where interactive tooltips are unavailable, such as PDF exports or printed reports.
