Billing

Void invoices from the Invoice list

Finance administrators and support users can now void invoices directly from the invoice list view in Advanced Billing. This enhancement allows for both single and bulk voiding actions, eliminating the need to open individual invoice detail pages for cleanup tasks. (Released: 16 June 2026)

Why it matters:

Managing high volumes of invoices—such as those from failed dunning processes, billing corrections, or subscription cancellations—previously required significant manual effort. By enabling direct and bulk voiding from the list view, teams can improve operational efficiency and reduce the risk of manual errors during invoice management.

Where to find it:

Navigate to the Invoice List view within Advanced Billing. You will find new checkboxes next to each invoice row and a "Void" action available for selection.

Payments

Maxio Payments: Track Top Up and Transfer transactions in your general ledger

When a "TopUp" or "Transfer" transaction occurs—which Maxio uses to recover funds if a virtual balance falls below $0—merchants will now see a clear description of the line item in their General Ledger (GL). Additionally, these items will be automatically allocated to the "Undeposited funds" account by default, providing better visibility and easier reconciliation.  (Released: 2 June 2026)

Why it matters:

Previously, these transactions could be difficult to identify in GL statements, often leading to support inquiries. By providing a clear description and a dedicated default account, merchants can more easily track risk mitigation transfers and take necessary actions, such as managing refunds or chargebacks, without manual investigation.

Where to find it:

These details appear within your GL sync settings and on your GL statements, specifically for QuickBooks and NetSuite. To manage this, navigate to your GL sync or Maxio Payments settings and locate the Transfer/Top Up account mapping.

View available payment methods for a Subscription in the Billing Portal

We have updated the Billing Portal to provide better visibility and management of your payment methods. You can now view all your active payment methods directly within the context of an individual subscription, rather than only being allowed to add new ones. (Released: 1 June 2026)

Why it matters:

This change allows you to manage your payment methods more efficiently. By seeing all active payment methods in one place, you can easily select and apply an existing method to a specific subscription without re-entering payment details, streamlining the management process.

Where to find it:

These updates are available within the Billing Portal under the subscription management and payment method update pages.

Maxio Payments: Apply surcharges by product family in Advanced Billing

Merchants using Maxio Payments surcharging in Advanced Billing can now choose which product families are eligible for surcharging. This enhancement allows for more granular control, enabling you to apply surcharges only to specific product lines rather than applying them site-wide.

Why it matters:

Previously, surcharging applied broadly across all supported areas once enabled for a site. This update allows you to exempt specific product families from surcharges, ensuring that only eligible product lines incur these fees while others remain surcharge-free.

Where to find it:

Configuration is managed within the Maxio Payments Surcharge Settings. Once the feature is enabled there, you can configure specific surcharge eligibility on the individual Product Family create, edit, and view pages within Advanced Billing.

Maxio Payments: Review transaction fees by fee type

We have updated the merchant view in Maxio Payments to provide greater transparency into transaction fees. Fees are now clearly categorized into three distinct groups: Card Network Fees (Interchange and Scheme fees), Maxio Fees, and Processor Fees.

Why it matters:

This change provides a clear line of sight into the specific fees associated with each transaction. By differentiating between network, processor, and Maxio-specific costs, you can better understand the rates you are qualifying for and more easily reconcile your processing expenses.

Where to find it:

These detailed fee groupings are visible within the Maxio Payments merchant interface in the Individual Transaction views, the Transaction list, and Transaction exports.

Review payment volume in Maxio Payments

We have updated the Maxio Payments merchant homepage with a new Payment Volume Dashboard. Previously, merchants had limited visibility into their processing performance from within the product. With this update, the homepage now features an interactive analytics dashboard that displays processing volume broken down by payment method, key rate metrics, and flexible date filtering — giving merchants a direct view into their own data. (Released: 24 June 2026)

Why it matters:

This change gives you a clear, visual picture of your payment processing activity. By breaking down volume across card types, direct debit networks, and payment methods like Apple Pay, you can better understand your approval rates, refund patterns, and dispute exposure — and make more informed decisions about your payments strategy.

Where to find it:

The Payment Volume Dashboard is available as the new default homepage in the Maxio Payments merchant interface. All merchants will see the updated experience upon logging in.

Route payments across multiple Maxio Payments gateways

Merchants can now configure multiple Maxio Payments Merchant IDs (MIDs) as separate gateways within a single Advanced Billing (AB) site. This enhancement allows for more flexible transaction routing based on currency, ensuring that each MID can handle its own specific settlement currency. (Released: 22 June 2026)

Why it matters:

This update is essential for businesses operating in multiple regions, such as the US and Canada. By supporting multiple gateways on one site, you can efficiently route transactions to the appropriate MID based on the currency used (e.g., USD or CAD). This enables seamless billing across various payment methods like ACH, EFT/PAD, and credit cards while maintaining distinct settlement paths for each currency.

Where to find it:

This functionality is available within your site's gateway configuration settings. You can now add and manage multiple Maxio Payments gateways to support your multi-currency routing needs.

Manage surcharging by customer

We have introduced new controls that allow you to enable or disable surcharging at the individual customer level. While surcharging remains enabled by default for all customers, you now have the flexibility to override this setting for specific accounts directly within the product interface or via bulk actions. (Released: 22 June 2026)

Why it matters:

This update provides greater precision in how you apply surcharges. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, you can now tailor surcharging preferences to meet specific customer agreements or regional requirements, saving time by managing these settings in bulk or individually.

Where to find it:

You can manage these settings on the Customer Detail page or by using the bulk edit toolbar on the Customer List.

Manage payment methods from a dedicated Billing Portal tab

We are introducing a dedicated "Payment Methods" tab within the Billing Portal. This change allows customers to manage and update their payment profiles independently, without needing to navigate through specific invoices or subscription settings. (Released: 10 June 2026)

Why it matters:

Previously, updating a payment method was often tied to the context of an invoice or hidden within subscription tabs. This update provides a more intuitive and direct way for users to manage their payment information at any time, ensuring their billing details are always up to date with minimal effort.

Where to find it:

The new "Payment Methods" tab is located in the main navigation menu of the Billing Portal.

Identify second chargebacks in Maxio Payments

We have introduced enhanced visibility and notifications for second chargebacks (pre-arbitrations) within Maxio Payments. Merchants can now clearly distinguish between a first dispute and a second dispute, ensuring they understand when a case is final and no further rebuttal is possible. This update includes a dedicated UI indicator for second chargebacks and automated email notifications to keep you informed of these final outcomes. (Released: 2 June 2026)

Why it matters:

Second chargebacks are automatically ruled in favor of the buyer according to card network rules, meaning merchants cannot defend them. Previously, it was difficult to distinguish these from initial disputes. This update provides clarity on dispute status, saves time by identifying cases where no action can be taken, and ensures you are immediately notified of these final decisions via email.

Where to find it:

You can find these updates in the Disputes section of Maxio Payments. Second chargebacks will be visible within the Lost tab, and the dispute record will display a timeline of events including the initial dispute and the second chargeback date.

Insights

Filter the AR Aging Report by Invoice details

We have enhanced the AR Aging report by adding new invoice-level filters. You can now refine your report results using specific invoice attributes such as Invoice Number, Record Type, PO Number, Memo, and any invoice custom fields you have configured. This update allows you to narrow your report to a specific subset of invoices while maintaining visibility into associated payments and credits. (Released: 17 June 2026)

Why it matters:

These new filters provide more granular control over your accounts receivable data. By isolating specific segments of invoices, you can perform more precise analysis and manage collections more effectively without losing the context of unapplied payments or credits.

Where to find it:

Navigate to the AR Aging report and look for the "Filter By" section. You will now see options to filter by Invoice Number, Record Type, PO Number, Memo, and your organization's Invoice-level custom fields.
