Create a Taxed Subscription with Anrok

Use a taxed subscription to confirm that Maxio can calculate Anrok sales tax for taxable Plans or Products before billing.

Before you start

Confirm that the Anrok setup and required tax calculation data are complete before creating a taxed subscription. Missing addresses, taxability settings, or credentials can prevent tax from calculating correctly.

• Anrok is enabled in Maxio.
• The tax origin address is complete.
• The customer has the address required by your tax address setting.
• The subscription includes taxable Plans or Products, already assigned a Plan Type and Tax Category in Anrok.

Step 1: Create or update the product catalog

The product catalog controls which Plans and Products are taxable. Review the catalog before creating the subscription so Anrok receives the correct line item details.

1. Define Plans or Products in Maxio Advanced Billing.
2. Mark Plans or Products as taxable when sales tax should apply.
3. Confirm each taxable Plan or Product has a Plan Type and Tax Category assigned in Anrok.

Step 2: Create the customer record

The customer record must include the address required by your tax address setting. Anrok uses the customer destination address to calculate applicable sales tax.

1. Enter the customer address information required by your tax address setting.
2. For shipping-based tax settings, collect a complete shipping address.
3. For billing-based tax settings, collect complete billing address details on the payment profile or signup form.

Step 3: Configure the subscription

After the catalog and customer record are ready, add taxable Plans or Products to the subscription. Preview the subscription or invoice before completing signup or issuing the invoice.

1. Add taxable Plans and Products to the subscription.
2. Click Preview Cost to confirm tax is calculated before billing.
3. Complete signup or finalize the subscription to create an invoice and persist the Anrok transaction when the tax amount looks correct.

Test before going live

1. Create a test customer in Maxio with a full address.
2. Run a sample subscription, invoice, void, and refund.
3. Confirm in Anrok that the transaction appears with jurisdiction details.
