Important: Subscription Groups with Multifrequency and Term Subscriptions is available only to Maxio Platform and Advanced Billing users. See Understand Term Subscriptions and Add Multifrequency Billing to a Subscription for setup, or contact support@maxio.com if you're interested in either feature.
In Maxio Platform, Transactions, Invoices, and Invoice Line Items are created for each Subscription in a group. Consolidated invoices themselves aren't synced. The creation flow depends on the Subscription type:
To use Term Subscriptions, Multifrequency must be enabled. You can use Multifrequency without Term Subscriptions enabled.
Invoice dates in Maxio Platform are set based on the Invoice creation date in Advanced Billing, which is usually the same as the Invoice issued date. Discrepancies can occur when Member Subscriptions have different billing dates from the Primary Subscription: in this case, Segment Invoices remain pending until the Primary Subscription's billing date is reached.
To keep billing frequencies compatible, the Primary Subscription must have the shortest, or most frequent, billing interval in the group. Member Subscriptions can't have a more frequent billing interval than the Primary Subscription. Multifrequency Subscriptions follow the same rule at the Component level.
If the Primary Subscription expires without renewal, every Member Subscription also expires. If a Member Subscription expires before the Primary Subscription, it doesn't affect the Primary. When a Primary Subscription's expiration causes Member Subscriptions to expire, Maxio Platform updates the corresponding Transactions, Invoices, and Invoice Line Items.
Both Evergreen and Term Subscription types can be used within the same Subscription Group, and their respective sync rules apply to each Member Subscription individually.
