Cancel Transactions
Last updated on Sep 19, 2026
Canceling a Subscription in Advanced Billing does not leave its Maxio Core Transactions behind. The next sync carries the cancellation across, so revenue schedules stop reflecting revenue you are no longer going to earn.
What happens on sync
When you cancel a Subscription in Advanced Billing and then sync to Maxio Core, the related Transactions that were in Recurring, Not Renewed status are canceled too. Their status becomes Recurring, Canceled.
That status change is what drives the downstream effect: a canceled Transaction stops generating future revenue, so deferred revenue and unbilled AR calculations pick up the cancellation the same way they would any other Transaction change.
Which transactions are affected
Only Transactions in Recurring, Not Renewed status at the moment of cancellation are canceled. Transactions in any other status are left alone, so historical activity on the Subscription is preserved rather than rewritten.
Reactivate a subscription
The behavior reverses. If the Subscription is reactivated, the corresponding Transactions are updated on the next sync and are no longer marked as canceled.
You do not need to recreate Transactions manually after a reactivation, because the sync restores them.
