Understand the One-Day End Date Difference
Last updated on Sep 19, 2026
A Transaction's End Date in Maxio Core often reads one day earlier than the End Date on the related Advanced Billing Subscription. This is expected, and it comes from the two applications recording the end of a period differently.
Why the dates differ
Advanced Billing stores a period's end as the exclusive start of the next period: the date on which the following period begins. Maxio Core stores an inclusive end date: the last day the period actually covers.
Converting between the two means subtracting a day, which is what produces the difference you see. It also means consecutive periods do not both claim the same boundary day, so a day's revenue is not counted twice.
There is one exception. When a period's start and end are the same date, a zero-duration period, the end date is already inclusive and no day is subtracted.
When this matters for the Advanced Subscription Momentum Report
The Advanced Subscription Momentum Report applies strict rules about which Transactions fall inside a reporting period: a Transaction that both starts and ends within the same reporting period is excluded unless its End Date is the last day of that period.
For Transactions created automatically from Advanced Billing subscription data, the conversion above lines the dates up correctly and nothing is needed from you. The mismatch appears when Term Subscriptions in Advanced Billing have been configured by hand, because manually created Invoices can carry dates that do not follow the same convention.
Example: An Advanced Billing ad-hoc Invoice covers 10/1 to 10/31. The Maxio Core Transaction built from those dates covers 10/1 to 10/30.
Here the Transaction's MRR is not counted in the Momentum Report, because its End Date is not the last day of the period. Adjusting the Transaction End Date to 10/31 includes it.
