Connect Braintree to Advanced Billing to process credit card, PayPal, and Apple Pay transactions through Braintree's payment platform. Advanced Billing supports Braintree Blue (v2).
Important: Braintree's older Orange API (v1) is no longer available for new accounts. Existing Advanced Billing customers using Braintree Orange continue to be supported indefinitely, but new signups automatically use Blue (v2).
Braintree accounts fall into two categories: sandbox and production. Use the credential set from the sandbox account when your Advanced Billing site is in test mode, and the credential set from the production account when your Advanced Billing site is in live mode. See Braintree's documentation for more on the differences between account types.
For complete currency and merchant location support information, see the payment gateway overview page.
See Braintree's Data Portability Policy.
Braintree supports multiple currencies, though each currency has its own separate merchant account ID. Advanced Billing uses your default Braintree merchant account for transactions if you don't provide a merchant account ID in the gateway configuration. As a result, Advanced Billing transacts only in the currency of your default Braintree merchant account, regardless of the Advanced Billing currency setting. Make sure your currency is set to the currency of your default merchant account, or to the currency of the merchant account ID provided if you're using one. Otherwise your customers see the incorrect currency within Advanced Billing.
To use Braintree with multiple currencies, configure multiple Braintree gateways, one for each currency, using your Merchant ID, Merchant Account ID, public key, and private key for each. The Merchant Account ID identifies which currency is available.
Braintree lets your customers sign up using their PayPal account. Sign up for PayPal through your Braintree account. Once you do, a PayPal tab appears under Settings in your Advanced Billing account. Select the checkbox there to enable it.
Once enabled, a PayPal button appears on your Public Signup Pages, letting customers choose to pay by credit card or PayPal during signup. PayPal signups are limited to the Public Signup Page. You can't sign up a Subscriber to pay with PayPal directly through the Advanced Billing application.

When importing customer data, Customer ID is the field used for vault_token.
