The Subscription Creation settings in Maxio allow you to fine-tune how new Subscriptions are handled from activation through billing, financial controls, and beyond. This article compiles guidance on each configuration option available under Config > Settings > Subscription Creation, including when to use them and how they impact your subscription lifecycle. Most of the options on this page let you set the default behavior. Whether you're managing activation failures, calendar billing, or financial locks, these settings help tailor your subscription logic to your business needs.

When a Subscription is placed on hold with the “automatically resume” option, starting the day after the next billing date.
You can choose from the following options:
- Prorated – Resume immediately and charge a prorated amount.
- Immediate – Resume immediately and charge the full amount.
- Delayed – Resume now, but wait to charge until the next time when Subscriptions are billed.

Locking Financial Data with Advanced Finance Settings
Prevent retroactive changes by locking invoices and transactions using manual or dynamic rules.
Maintaining accurate financial records is critical to ensuring compliance and audit readiness. Maxio’s Advanced Finance Settings allow you to define rules for locking invoices and transactions to prevent unintentional or unauthorized changes. By setting closing and transaction lock dates, either dynamically or manually, you can safeguard your financial data and ensure changes to subscriptions are only made within approved timeframes.
These settings dictate how far in the past a Subscriptions start date can be backdated.
How to Set Closing and Lock Dates
- Go to the Config > Settings > Subscription Creation > Advanced Finance Settings section.
- Manually set the closing and lock dates;
- Or, choose from these dynamic options:
- End of Previous Calendar Month
- 30 Days Prior to Today
- 60 Days Prior to Today
- 90 Days Prior to Today
- Click Update Settings.
