How to use the controls

Use the top navigation controls to manage template changes and move between branding themes.

  • Back to Themes returns to the Branding Themes list. Confirm before leaving if there are unsaved changes.
  • Undo or redo reverses recent changes or restores previously undone actions.
  • Change Template, in the toolbar above the editing area, opens a window where you preview Maxio's base templates and replace the theme's design with one of them. The steps are in the next section.
  • Update Template saves the current template and creates a new version.

Changes are not saved automatically. Select Update Template to save your updates. Resolve any validation errors before saving.

Change the base template

Use Change Template to start a theme's design from one of Maxio's base templates: Standard, Calm, Modern, Smooth, or Minimalist. Applying a template replaces the design that is currently in the editor.

To switch a theme to a different base template

WARNING: Applying a template replaces the current design, and you can't undo it after you click Update Template to save. Changes you haven't saved yet are lost from the editor when you replace the design.

  1. In the toolbar above the editing area, click Change Template.
  2. In the Change Template window, select a template in the list to preview it. The preview uses sample invoice data and your date format.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. In the Replace Current Template? window, click Replace Template. To return to the list instead, click Back.
  5. Review the new design in the editor. A message confirms that the template was applied and reminds you to save.
  6. Click Update Template to save the change.
