Configure how Maxio determines a subscription's state when its trial ends without a payment profile on file, so the outcome stays predictable across every product on your site.
Previously, this outcome depended on a combination of subscription-level settings and collection method, which made behavior harder to predict. The End of Trial Behavior setting replaces that logic with a single, explicit choice.
Navigate to Config > Settings > Subscription Creation (or Subscription Activation, depending on your site configuration) to choose how trials without a payment profile should resolve.
Select one of the following options:
- Trial Ended (default) — the subscription moves to a Trial Ended state and requires reactivation.
- Active — the subscription continues as Active with no payment method on file.
- Past Due — the subscription enters Past Due, an active state that triggers dunning if configured.
Click Save to apply the setting. This behavior applies to all trial subscriptions on the site, regardless of individual product settings.
