If the QuickBooks Web Connector's "Last Result" dialog shows the following message, your sync failed because a single sync call ran longer than the Web Connector allows:
QBWC1042: ReceiveResponseXML failed Error message: The operation has timed out See QWCLog for more details. Remember to turn logging on.
This error and its wording come from the Intuit Web Connector application itself, not from Maxio Core.
QBWC1042 is also the code the Web Connector uses for a completely unrelated "ascii codec can't encode" error, which has a different cause and a different fix. If your error message mentions an ascii codec rather than a timed-out operation, see QBWC1042: ASCII Codec Can't Encode instead.
The QuickBooks Web Connector enforces its own built-in two-minute timeout on each call it makes while syncing. When a single sync operation takes longer than two minutes to complete, the Web Connector abandons it and reports QBWC1042. This timeout is a property of the Web Connector application, not a limit set by Maxio Core.
This most often happens during an initial data load, when the Web Connector is syncing hundreds or thousands of historical records from QuickBooks to Maxio Core in one pass. That volume of data can easily push a single sync call past the two-minute mark.
A QBWC1042 timeout during a large sync doesn't mean anything is broken. Resolving it just takes patience and a fresh attempt.
To retry after a QBWC1042 timeout
If the timeout keeps happening after retrying, contact support@maxio.com for help correcting the issue.
Large initial syncs can also make the Web Connector's progress bar appear frozen well before a timeout occurs, so see Web Connector Progress Bar Appears Frozen During a Long Sync to know what to expect during a first sync.
