An Invoice Line Item you are sending to QuickBooks Online uses an Item that does not have an income account assigned to it in QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Online requires every Service, Inventory, or Non-inventory Item used on an invoice to have an income account. Maxio passes along whichever account is already linked to the Item in QuickBooks Online when it sends the invoice; it does not assign one itself.
Important: Maxio only lets you set an Item's income account before that Item first syncs to QuickBooks Online. Once an Item has a QuickBooks ID, Maxio's Item edit page no longer shows that field, because from that point on the account link comes from QuickBooks Online itself. Fix the income account directly in QuickBooks Online, not in Maxio.
To fix this
Create Items in QuickBooks Online first, rather than in Maxio, when QuickBooks Online is your connected GL. QuickBooks Online's own Item creation screen requires an income account for Service Items, so Items set up there will not run into this error later.
After creating the Item in QuickBooks Online, run a sync in Maxio. The new Item appears under New QuickBooks Items in the Attention Needed panel on the QuickBooks page. Open that list and complete the Item's Maxio profile, including its liability, asset, and income accounts, so the Item is ready to use on Transactions and Invoices in Maxio.
For instructions on manually adding an Item in Maxio, see Add, Edit, and Remove Items.
For more on how Items link to accounts in Maxio, see Managing the Chart of Accounts.
