Maxio Platform's reports let you access, analyze, and make decisions based on the customer, contract, transaction, invoice, revenue, and payment details in your account. Reports enable tasks like verifying journal entry amounts in your GL, analyzing trends in Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), and projecting future cash. Reports can be accessed, created, and updated via the Reports page (click Reports from the side menu). From here, you can create and run reports, as well as manage your Dashboards.
If you're unsure which report to use, see Choose the Right Report for Your Metric.
There are three types of reports:
Finance Reports provide reportable revenue, invoicing, journal adjustments, and all the other detailed back-up data you need to support your financial reporting.
Finance Reports can compute the Transaction Revenues and Invoice Line Items by Customer or by Customer Contract, and provide both aggregate and broken-down views of revenue, invoicing, deferred revenue, and unbilled accrued revenue. Finance Reports can be run by either Items or Accounts.
| Report | Description |
|---|---|
| Understand the Advanced Revenue Summary Report | This report provides summary-level invoice, revenue, deferred revenue, long-term deferred revenue, unbilled AR, and journal entries to book income statement and balance sheet entries in your GL. |
| Use the Rollforward Report for Deferred Revenue and A/R | View the change in deferred revenue or accounts receivable over a period, from an opening balance through the actions that change it to an ending balance. |
| Configure the Finance Summary Report | Generates information for financial reporting using Transaction Revenue Schedules and Invoice Line Items, rather than the Transaction Amount. |
| Configure the Financial Performance Summary Report | Generates revenue, invoice, and deferred revenue balance information for a period, for use compiling financial reports. |
| Configure the Contract Details Report | The multiple variations of this report are used to provide detailed contract and item-level revenues, invoices, and deferred revenue schedules over multiple periods. Use these reports as audit support for your finance summary reporting. Create a set of each variation (invoices, revenue, and deferred revenue/unbilled accrued revenue balance) for each income account. |
| Calculate Deferred Revenue by Transaction | Calculates deferred revenue and unbilled accrued revenue by Transaction, for Transactions with a deferred revenue or unbilled AR balance as of the report's end period. |
| Configure the Contract Summary Report | This report includes the revenue, invoicing, deferred revenue balance, and unbilled accrued revenue balance by contract for the specified period. This report also includes the breakdown of short-term and long-term deferred revenue. Used as audit support documentation. Create one for each income-reporting account. |
| Configure the State Sales Report | A report that displays revenues or invoices by state. Used for state income and sales tax reporting. |
| Configure the Payment Summary Report | Summarizes invoice amounts, accounts receivable, and payments received for a period, including the journal entries to record A/R credits and cash debits in a GL not connected through an integration. |
| Configure the A/R Aging Report | View summary and detail-level accounts receivable information. |
| Track A/R Aging Health Over Time | Measures the health of your A/R Aging over time, complementing the A/R Aging Report's point-in-time view of at-risk invoices. |
| Configure the DSO Report for Cash Flow Insights | Calculates Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis to support cash flow forecasting, with filters to segment DSO by customer group. |
| Reconcile Open Balance with the Diagnostic Report | Summarizes the Open Balance amounts by account pairings versus the Transactions allocated against those pairings for revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled accrued revenue. |
Common Analytics Reports
| Report | Description |
|---|---|
| Subscription Momentum Report | This is the "mega" report that addresses momentum, various retention and churn calculations, customer counts, and CLV. The report analyzes the properties of transactions as they span periods, and can deliver information about new sales, incremental growth, renewal and churn rates, performance against established objectives ("Targets"), and even CLV and CLV/CAC reporting. |
| Advanced Subscription Momentum Report Overview | Helps finance and product teams analyze subscription dynamics, including renewal growth, churn velocity, cohort momentum, and revenue transition, using a configurable structure of report sections. |
| Analyzing Customers Using the Cohort Report | Classic cohort reporting that can also deliver an almost unlimited number of unique cohort reports. |
| Analyze Transaction Metrics Using the Basic Report | Compute Transaction Amounts (and other values) at a point in time using one of the Transaction date fields. Typically used for Bookings calculations. The Basic Report does not include "period span" logic like the Subscription Momentum Report, meaning it doesn't calculate that ARR or MRR exists in a period that falls between the Transaction's start and end dates. |
| Understand the Projection Report | Uses actual historical Transactions and incorporates projections of Transactions to inspect future revenue, invoicing, and bookings performance. Like the Basic Report, this report does not include "period span" logic. |
| Viewing Top Customers | Build a list of your top X Customers by ARR, MRR, Amount, Revenue, or Invoices. |
| Create and Run List Builder Reports | Build a configurable report pulling exactly the fields you need from a base object like Invoice, Transaction, or Contract, up to 100,000 rows. |
